"Black Family Reunions: Finding the Rest of Me, is a tribute to and celebration of family reunions. Family reunions are powerful, time-honored traditions that have contributed to the survival, building and advancement of Black families. These glorious celebratory events, that have helped to maintain family cohesiveness while preserving family history and culture, are captured and come alive in the book. The book tells the story of several family reunions, in many cases using the voice of the family itself. Although this is not a "how to" book, the experiences of planning and holding a reunion are conveyed by the families."
